An incubator is designed to offer low cost start-up space and services to new businesses. It is a somewhat sheltered environment with access to equipment and advice, available for a limited period of time (usually three years) to entrepreneurs as they start new ventures. Albion EDC offers a mixed use facility of 20,000 square feet.
A large
factor in the success of Viking Satcom was our ability to control our
costs at the early inception of the company. The incubator facility
offered by the Albion Economic Development Corporation gave us an
excellent, cost-effective location for corporate, sales and operations
functions. Additionally, the shared facility concept of the incubator
allowed us to split costs with other companies at the site while also
providing the option to expand into unused areas of the building as we
grew and required more space. -Paul Wagler, President of Viking Satcom
and Graduate of the Albion Business Incubator (2013)
