Recreation
Albion is located at the Forks of the Kalamazoo River in beautiful south-central Michigan. Combining rolling hills with scenic forests, lakes, and streams, this part of the Great Lakes State offers scenic views and an abundance of outdoor activities all year round

For the outdoor enthusiast, the Albion area offers river and lake activities including fishing, boating, canoeing, and water skiing. Eight of the city's seventeen parks are located on the river.

Brand new this year, the Albion River Trail is a 10-14 foot wide paved path running along the Kalamazoo River for 1.6 miles through Albion.

You can walk, run, bike, rollerblade, or skateboard on the trail.
This is a non-motorized vehicle trail, with the exception of vehicles for handicap accessibility.

The largest park in the city, Victory Park, was named in commemoration of the Allied Victory in World War I. It is a popular location for wintertime sledding and summer musical performances in the band shell.

Whitehouse Nature Center is a 135-acre preserve with scenic nature trails. Located on the Kalamazoo River and adjacent to the Albion College campus, it is used both for field instruction in the sciences and for quiet walks and observation. An Interpretive Center was built in 1977 to house a classroom, work space and a place for permanent nature displays. The Nature Center is named for Dr. William W. Whitehouse, president of the College, 1945-1960.
The City of Albion Recreation Dept. offers many opportunities for sports and recreation for all ages in a variety of activities - (517) 629-5535. Golfing is also available at several locations, including the beautiful public course at Tomac Woods - (517) 629-8241.
